He was cousin to the Queen and the Earl of Arundel. Worldly, ambitious and wealthy, after hearing the disputations of Saint Edmund Campion in London, he faced a radical decision that saw him convert to Catholicism in one of the most dangerous times in English history. Through a series of dramatic events he fled his castle in Arundel, West Sussex but was captured at sea and interred in the infamous Tower of London. This was to be his home for the next eleven years, held there under threat of death by Queen Elizabeth the First who was determined to break him. He would have his freedom, lands, wealth, titles and family returned to him if he would just attend one Protestant service but he refused. He died in the Tower in 1595 and is one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales.
Encounter his journey in this original film on DVD that runs for 25minutes and has footage from the town of Arundel, sacred art, historical imagery, paintings, music and narration.
